Battery Adapter For AN/PRT-4

Description:
Hand Held Tactical Transmitter. 2 Channel Crystal Controlled.

Specifications:
Original Batteries: BA-399/U 15 volts DC.

Construction:
"Stack" of wax cells.

Substitutions:
2-9 volts in series for 18 volts.

Parts List:
2- 9 volt snaps
cardboard cereal box
packing tape
2- 9 volt holders

Instructions:
Unfold flaps on bottom of battery and remove guts. Cut wires off of connectors and discard wax cells.

Cut cardboard box 4-1/4" x 1-3/4". Fold as shown in [Figure 1]. Tape old connector as shown to top of cardboard. Glue battery holders as shown in [Figure 2].

Solder as shown in wire diagram in [Figure 3]. A small rubber band around the batteries and adapter will hold them in place. Insert unit with 2-9 volts into cover and place in radio.
