Navy Lo 70 KL 40
Navy Lo 70 KL 40
Navy Lo 70 KL 40
Is a fine and quite rare set. Important is that there also needs to be a quite heavy power supply. The set need on the rear a interconnection which links power supply Rx / Tx ( inclusive control section and on the very right the antenna tuner ).

The circuit of the transmitter has a lot in common with the FuG 10 design, but is a combined long and short wave set. The transmitter use 3 x LS 50 and is a two stage transmitter. The receiver also is very particular because it uses two IF stage, one for LW and the second for SW. The RF tubes and coil turret are used for both wave ranges.

There are only a minor difference. I suppose the M stands for Marine (Navy) but I am not sure about it.

The set is not very rare, but rather wanted. It is quartz controlled and operates up to approx. 14 MHz. It is a three stage transmitter with a LS 50 in the PA which runs 20 watt for CW. Phone is possible, but the power is then reduced to 5 - 7.5 watts.

The accompanying Rx is the Radione R 3. Both sets can operate from DC 6 or 12 or 24 V ( indicated on the type plate ) and from AC.

Originally this set is stored in a suitcase, which also contains the spare parts and interconnecting cables. We own the two suitcases complete, which are extremely rare!! I don't know any one who has these! But certainly there are a few in Austria, though unknown to me.

Has anyone ever seen one of these sets?
